What is EWSA (Extended Warranty Service Agreement) from GoWarranty?

GoWarranty EWSA replicates and extends the manufacturer’s warranty. This means whenever your electronic appliance or gadget suffers a malfunction or breakdown, we will get it repaired or replaced for you while bearing all the costs required. We do all the followups, transport, procurement of parts including the legwork required to fix it.

GoWarranty offers coverage for all your home appliances, kitchen appliances and gadgets ranging from Air Conditioner, Air Purifier, Audio System, Electric Fan, Geyser, Home Theater & Soundbar, Electric Iron, Room Cooler, Room Heater, Television, Vacuum Cleaner, Washing Machine, Blender, Coffee maker & Grinder, Dishwasher, Electric Kettle, Food Processor, Juicer Mixer Grinder, Microwave oven & OTGs, Refrigerator, Toaster, Water Purifier, Desktop, Digital Camera & DSLRs, Fitness Tracker, Gaming Consoles, Kindle E-Reader, Laptop, Mobile Phone, Projectors, Scanners & Printers, Smartwatches, Tablet, and Virtual Reality gadgets.

You can opt for an extended warranty from GoWarranty for your appliances and gadgets within 9-months after purchasing your device.

You can opt to protect your device for up to 4 additional years. The term of the extended warranty available is based on what the normal life cycle of the device is supposed to be. While opting for Extended Warranty for your device, please keep in mind that the total term of the manufacturers' warranty and Extended Warranty does not exceed 5 years.

E.g., if your television has 1-year manufacturer's warranty, you can opt for extended warranty for up to 4 additional years. However, if your television comes with 2-years manufacturer's warranty, you can opt for extended warranty for maximum 3 additional years.

Service Assurance

GoWarranty prides itself in providing fantastic service and we are willing to put our money where our mouth is. We guarantee that your device will be repaired and returned to you within the promised time. If we are unable to repair the device within promised timelines, we will provide you with a new or refurbished replacement device with equal or equivalent features. In some cases, we may choose to offer Gift Cards reflecting the most recent price of your device. The brands that qualify for Service Assurance are as follows:

All Televisions qualify for an SLA of 30 working days.

Working Days includes weekdays between Monday & Friday. It excludes Saturday, Sunday and all national and state holidays. The repair TAT starts once the device is picked up and delivered to the respective service centre.

We are constantly working to expand this list. Till such time, we do not provide timeline guarantees for brands that fall outside of the list above.

* The turn around time is dependent on the pin code service availability and excluding the logistics timeline.

Get Certificate of Protection For A Hassle-Free Experience

It only takes a couple of clicks. The Certificate Of Protection (COP) is the confirmation from GoWarranty that your appliance or gadget is protected under the extended warranty program. It will also allow us to provide you quick and efficient service at the time of registration a service request.

1. You'll receive an automated system email once you purchase a plan. The email will have your login credentials which can be used to sign-in to your GoWarranty account

2. Update your device details and upload the invoice details in the plan activation form. Ensure that the buyer/customer name, and IMEI/Serial Number on your device matches the one that is mentioned on the purchase invoice and/or the serial number displayed on the device image uploaded during plan activation.

3. Upon successful submission of the details, you will get your certificate of protection. Please archive this Certificate of Protection till the term of the GoWarranty EWSA.

Help Us, Help You

1. Buy Extended Warranty along with your device and ensure that you are buying the right plan based on the price of your device.

2. At the time of purchasing the plan, ensure that the invoice issued to you by your retailer has the IMEI/Serial Number that matches the one of the device.

3. Get your Certificate of Protection within 90-days of purchasing an extended warranty by activating the EWSA plan. Requests for devices activated post 90-days from purchase are liable to be inspected or rejected. You can drop an email to help@gowarranty.in if you have missed to activate your plan within 90-days of the plan purchase.

4. Provide all the information requested by us in a timely and truthful manner.

5. We request you to submit the device details and purchase invoice to us promptly and respond to any queries raised in a timely manner. Delays on this front by you will impact the service assurance to extend by the proportionate number of days.

6. If the Serial Number has changed on account of repairs or exchange by your retailer or the service centre, please provide us with a "Swap Letter" that will allow us to authenticate that you are still using the same device. You can get the "Swap Letter" form the brand/OEM. The warranty is transferrable on selected brands. Please refer to Point#7 below for the brands which are eligible for warranty transfer basis the swap letter offered by the OEM.

7. The EWSA agreement is transferrable only for few appliance brands* in India (excluding smartphones). The EWSA agreement for other brands are non-refundable and non-transferrable and caters only to devices tagged along with the specified serial number mentioned during plan activation or Certificate Of Protection (COP).

8. We need to have at least one service centre in your location from your OEM for supporting service requests. This will help us to serve your devices via authorised service centre with genuine spare parts .

Raising a Service Request

The worst has happened; your device has suffered a breakdown. Do not worry; we are here to help you.

1. Call us on 1800-123-868686 or email us on help@gowarranty.in within 7 days and tell us about the malfunction that has occurred.

2. Keep a copy of your purchase invoice bearing the IMEI/Serial number ready.

3. Ensure that the buyer/customer name and the IMEI/Serial Number on your device matches the one that is mentioned on the purchase invoice and/or the serial number displayed on the device image uplaoded during plan activation.

4. We will keep you posted regarding the progress of the Service Request every step of the way.

What Should You Keep in Mind?

  • We will gladly service as long as the plan is active and has not expired. Also, the malfunction needs to have occurred during the term of Extended Warranty and not prior to it.
  • Malfunctioning accessories or consumable items are not covered here. A full list of these items is available on our website.
  • The device needs to have minimum 12 months' manufacturer's warranty that is applicable in India.
  • Please ensure that you do not modify the device, perform repairs or replacement in any form (authorised or unauthorised) or use it commercially, before purchasing the EWSA. All these actions void the manufacturer's warranty and subsequently the extended warranty as well. In such scenarios the EWSA is non-refundable. Please refer to point #12 below for list of brands eligible for EWSA transfer.
  • We will not be able to cover those devices that are bought outside India. However, if the device that you have bought in India, breaks down while travelling abroad, we will cover it.
  • Malfunction should not be on account of normal wear and tear.
  • Ensure your device invoice is electronically generated (printed) and has a complete break up of taxes. In case of manual invoices or fraudulent invoices, rejection of requests will be at the discretion of GoWarranty & Services LLP.
  • Go Extended Warranty covers every issue in the device that occurs organically or in simple terms "on its own" and without any external factor. That means issues like physical damage, liquid damage, power surges, rusting & corrosion, etc. are outside the scope of the program, even if they are covered under manufacturer warranty.
  • International Coverage - If the device breaks down abroad, we will still cover it. You can get it repaired from the service centre abroad; we will reimburse the invoice costs. Alternatively, you can get it back to India, we will provide our usual Pick - Repair – Deliver back to you service.
  • The extended warranty plan to be procured only for appliances or gadgets purchased within 9-months. Activation to be done by the customer within 90-days of warranty purchase. The warranty stands void if not activated within 90-days of purchasing the extended warranty plan.
  • To help raise a smooth service request, please ensure that the buyer/customer name and the IMEI/Serial Number on your device matches the one that is mentioned on the purchase invoice and/or the serial number displayed on the device image uploaded during plan activation.

What is Not Covered?

    This Extended Warranty Service Agreement does not cover the following components or specific conditions:

  • Products that do not carry an existing Manufacturer’s Warranty valid in India at the time that this Extended Warranty Service Agreement has been purchased by you.
  • Physical or accidental damage of any kind that causes internal or external components to malfunction.
  • Issues arising on account of liquid/water logging.
  • Issues arising out of wear and tear of the Covered Product.
  • Issues or costs arising due to unauthorized repairs carried out on the Covered Product, improper usage and defects due to electrical wiring, plug(s), switches, extension box, inverter, grounding defects, damages due to sudden surge fluctuation, fluctuating voltage, loose contacts etc.; and damages resulting from external causes like rat bite(s), insect infestation or intrusion.
  • Breakdown on account of any accessories not originally provided by the manufacturer of the Covered Product.
  • Issues arising as a result of non-operating or cosmetic deterioration that do not affect the functionality or operation of the Covered Product.
  • Performing actions on the Covered Product that cause the manufacturer’s warranty to void, including products that have been modified, altered, adjusted or repaired, serviced, moved, removed, installed, by unauthorized persons.
  • Any other condition that voids the Manufacturer's Warranty prior to end of its standard warranty period, including repairs from the local and unauthorized service centres.
  • Any issue occurring prior to the commencement of the Extended Warranty Service Agreement or after its expiry.
  • Breakdown or consumption of consumable products such as cables, cords, gas refill/recharge/top-up in air conditioners, cartridges, tapes, software items, batteries, Joysticks, chargers, earphones, headphones, fuses, bulbs, styli, ribbons, plastic, rubber, sheet-metal parts, doors, main liner, cracks, paintwork, product finish, dents, scratches, plugs, rubber pads, stabilizer, grills, casing, trays, light covers, filters, attachments, belts, toner, drums or any other add-ons (accessories such as blades, jars, tubs, covers, plates, etc.), cleaning and lubrication, alignment and descaling.
  • Defects due to transmission/cable/DTH/or any other external source from where the signal input are fed to the product.
  • Breakdown caused by a failure to follow the manufacturer's installation or operating instructions.
  • Product(s) with removed or altered serial numbers.
  • Damage to computer hardware, software and data caused by, including, but not limited to virus, application programs, network drivers, source code, object code or proprietary data, support, configuration, installation or reinstallation of any software or data.
  • Any product fraudulently described or misrepresented by You.
  • Malfunction of the Covered Product resulting from inadequate safekeeping, storage at high temperatures or humidity, rust and corrosion, storage with mothballs or leakage of batteries, are not covered.
  • Damage occurring due to natural calamities like floods, earthquakes and acts of God.
  • Products used for commercial uses are not covered.

Maximum Liability

The maximum amount payable by us under this Extended Warranty Service Agreement will be the original Purchase Price of your product. If for any 1 Service Request, the cost of repairs is greater than the current/last available market value of the device, the device will be replaced. Replacement is provided in the form of new or refurbished device or Gift Cards.

In the event that We make payments for repairs or replacements, or for Gift Cards reflecting the replacement cost of an item of equal or equivalent features and functionality, which in the aggregate, are equal to the Coverage Amount, the Extended Warranty Service Agreement will be considered as fulfilled and We will have no further obligations, notwithstanding any outstanding term of the Service Agreement.

Except as indicated above, in no event will this Extended Warranty Service Agreement be liable for:

  • Indirect damage caused due to improper functioning of the product, including, but not limited to lost profits or savings, business interruption, loss of data, lost revenue, loss of use, inconvenience, mental or physical stress, commercial or economic loss of any kind, or special, incidental, or consequential damages.
  • Incidental damages due to malfunctioning of the product such as loss of income or loss of profit etc.
  • Any request made by a third party or made by customer on behalf of a third party.
  • Any damage that occurs as a result of customer's failure to follow the directions in the User manual.

This limitation of liability applies in all circumstances i.e. when damages are sought, a request made under this limited Extended Warranty Service Agreement, or as a tort request (including negligence and strict product liability), a contract request, or any other request. This limitation of liability cannot be waived or modified by any person. This limitation of liability will be effective even if Customer has advised GoWarranty / its representative of the possibility of any such damages or even if such possibility was reasonably foreseeable.

Plan Cancellation

This Extended Warranty Service Agreement purchased from the GoWarranty website can be cancelled within 30 days of purchase without any reason whatsoever. Upon cancellation of the EXTENDED WARRANTY SERVICE AGREEMENT no charge will be deducted from the amount paid towards the EXTENDED WARRANTY SERVICE AGREEMENT and the entire amount shall be refunded. No cancellations can be made by the Customer after 30 days from the Date of Purchase of Extended Warranty Service Agreement.

If the Customer makes a request, knowing it to be false and/or fraudulent as regards the value or the amount of work or otherwise, this Service Agreement is deemed to be cancelled from inception without return of money paid and the customer must return all request payments received till such cancellation, including any shipping charges or other ancillary charges incurred by the Company. Cancelling or refund a plans with special discounted premium, is solely on GoWarranty discretion.

The protection plans (EWSA and Damage Protection) are non-transferrable. Please ensure you are providing correct and valid owner's details.

Please be advised, a plan once activated, it cannot be cancelled or refunded.

Please be advised, a plan not activated within 90 days of plan purchase date, stands void and cannot be cancelled or refunded.

GoWarranty Terms Of Use: Accidental, Physical, & Liquid Damage

Complete Device Damage Protection Plan from GoWarranty

The complete damage protection plan (UIN: IRDAN108CP0046V01201819) for insurance coverage of your Equipment (Air conditioner, Washing machine, Refrigerator, LED/LCD television, Home theater & sound bar, laptop, desktop, microwave oven & OTG, dishwasher, camera, smartphone (Android & Apple), Apple iPad, Android tablet, or graphic tablet, as applicable), powered by Tata AIG General Insurance Company Limited.

The plans needs to be activated within 5-days of the purchasing the accidental, physical and liquid damage protection plan. Failing to activate the plan leads plan failure without the possibility of cancellation and/or refund.

You will be covered under the above-mentioned protection plan policy for a sum insured of up to the maximum of the equipment purchase value for accidental damage (including liquid damage) but excluding theft and burglary of your equipment during the policy period. Please refer to the exclusions as mentioned in the Insurance Policy Terms and Conditions enclosed herewith. Please note that in case of Damage (partial loss) to the covered equipment under the policy, you will be paid the repair cost of your equipment after adjustment of compulsory deductible specified in the terms.

In the event of Total Loss of the covered equipment under the policy you will be paid the invoice value of the equipment less depreciation based on the age of your equipment on the date of accidental damage (including liquid damage), less compulsory deductible at the rates as specified below but limited nevertheless to the invoice value at the time of purchase.

You must intimate the Accidental Damage claim to GoWarranty by telephone/e-mail, immediately after you have discovered the loss but not later than forty-eight (48) hours of discovering the accidental damage loss/incident. GoWarranty cannot be held responsible for declining the service request if failing to report the damage/incident within the specified time limit.

Service requests need to be raised after 7-days of plan activation. Service requests raised within 7-days of plan activation will be rejected.

Depreciation Applicable of ADLD C for Devices

  • 0 to 3 months: 20%
  • 3 to 6 months: 30%
  • 6 to 12 months: 40%

Compulsory excess of 7.5% of claim value will deducted for every service request

GoWarranty Damage Protection Plan Benefits

Once the damage protection plan is activated, thereafter if your device incident during the plan period, GoWarranty will pay any amount subject to conditions 1 and 2 detailed below:

Condition 1: Depreciation will be applicable for total damage claims which will be calculated as a percentage as defined below upon the invoice value. For Partial Damage claims depreciation is not applicable.

Condition 2: In case of partial damage and total damage, every service request of the activated plans shall be subject to a deductible of 7.5% of repair cost.

Condition 3: In case the repair cost is more than 75% of the invoice price, a salvage applicable.

GoWarranty Damage Protection Plan Exclusions

This protection plan does not cover your loss or liability caused by or arising out of or aggravated by:

  • Damage caused by any process of cleaning, dyeing, or bleaching, restoring, servicing, preventative maintenance, repairing or renovation or deterioration arising from wear and tear, moth, vermin, insects or mildew or any other gradually operating cause.
  • Loss or damage caused by mechanical or electrical derangement/ breakdown of any article unless caused by accidental external means or specifically declared and accepted by us and expressly stated in the policy schedule.
  • Any loss or damage arising through delay, detention or confiscation by Customs or other authorities.
  • Loss or damage whether direct or indirect arising from War, Warlike operations, Act of Foreign Enemy, Hostilities (whether war be declared or not), Civil war, rebellion, Insurrection, Civil Commotion, Military or Usurped Power, Seizure, Capture, confiscation, Arrests Restraints and Detainment by the order of any Government or any other authority.
  • Terrorism: This Policy excludes loss, damage, cost or expense of whatsoever nature directly or indirectly caused by, resulting from or in connection with any act of terrorism regardless of any other cause or event contributing concurrently or in any other sequence to the loss.
  • Any loss, destruction, or damage to any property whatsoever or any loss or expense whatsoever, resulting or arising there from or any consequential loss and any legal liability of whatsoever nature, directly or indirectly caused by or contributed to by or arising from ionizing, radiation, or contamination by radioactivity from any source whatsoever.
  • Any loss, destruction, damage or legal liability directly or indirectly caused by or contributed to by or arising from Nuclear Weapons Material.
  • Loss damage or consequential loss directly or indirectly caused by, consisting of, or arising from any functioning or malfunctioning of the internet or similar facility, or of any intranet or private network or similar facility.
  • This shall not exclude subsequent damage not otherwise excluded which itself results from an insured peril.
  • Consequential loss or legal liability of any kind.
  • Loss or damage due to or contributed to by the Insured having caused or suffered anything to be done whereby the risks hereby insured against were unnecessarily increased.
  • Loss or damage due to misplacement, misuse, reckless, abusive, willful, or intentional conduct associated with handling and use of the covered item.
  • Any cosmetic loss or damage including but not limited to scratches and dents that do not otherwise affect the functionality of the covered item.
  • Loss or damage arising out of any pre-existing conditions.
  • Loss or damage arising out of the misuse of or use other than in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendation of or use of any accessory which has not been approved by the manufacturer with the insured appliances.
  • Loss of SIM memory card, charger/cables, adaptor, batteries, and other accessories.
  • Any loss or damage caused due to explosion of battery.
  • The excess stated in the plan to be borne by the insured in any one occurrence.
  • Loss or damage for which the manufacturer or supplier of the insured items is responsible either by law or under contract.
  • Loss or damage caused by willful act or gross negligence.
  • Damage to device due to fall of device from shirt pocket while bending down.
  • Damage/loss to device due to unexplained circumstances.
  • Damage to device because of sitting on the device.
  • Liquid damage to device if taken to swimming pool, river, sea, or beach.
  • Damage to device while participating in any kind of sports activity including swimming and gym.
  • The cover shall be voidable in the event of misrepresentation. misdescription or non-disclosure of any material particular to the insured device.
  • Loss of or damage to the device that is registered in the name of a corporate entity and is not used by a bonafide user.
  • Any type of self-repair or attempted self-repair of the Insured Device by the insured.
  • Any damage or loss occasioned from any water borne craft or swimming activity.
  • Non-availability of proper device purchase proof (Tax Invoice copy) with proper GSTIN details of the seller and tax charged breakup.
  • Device repaired/Replaced without the formal approval from Insurance company.
  • Device Identity: IMEI or serial number of the device should be clearly visible in the submitted salvage, claim shall be rejected in case identity of device is not proven.
  • Loss or damage caused to the Insured Device due incorrect storage, installation, or incorrect setup by the insured.
  • Use of the insured device for commercial activity by giving the insured device to other company on hire, rental, loan, or the device ownership us transferred to the third party.
  • Device unboxing, or the device activation date is prior to the device invoice date, in such scenarios, the plan stands void.

Cancellation Terms For Damage Protection Plan

The damage protection plans purchased from the GoWarranty website can be cancelled within 5 days of purchase. No cancellations can be made by the customer after 5 days from the date of purchase of damage protection plan.

If the customer makes a request, knowing it to be false and/or fraudulent as regards the value or the amount of work or otherwise, this Service Agreement is deemed to be cancelled from inception without return of money paid and the customer must return all request payments received till such cancellation, including any shipping charges or other ancillary charges incurred by GoWarranty.
