With people around the world isolating indoors to protect themselves against the spread of the coronavirus, it has never been more popular.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But its popularity has also attracted trolls. The phenomenon of \u201cZoombombing,\u201d in which an uninvited guest uses Zoom\u2019s screen-sharing feature to broadcast porn and shock videos, has been on the rise. Most Zoom meetings have a public link that, if clicked, allows anyone to join. Trolls have been collecting these links and sharing them in private chat groups and then signing in to other people\u2019s calls to cause mischief.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There\u2019s an easy way to stop this from happening, but Zoom makes it needlessly difficult to find. If you schedule a meeting from the web interface, you won\u2019t see the option to disable screen sharing. Instead:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Click on \u201cSettings\u201d in the left-hand menu<\/li><li>Scroll down to \u201cScreen sharing\u201d and under \u201cWho can share?\u201d click \u201cHost Only\u201d<\/li><li>Click on \u201cSave\u201d<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"920\" height=\"385\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.gowarranty.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/screen-sharing-zoom.jpg\" alt=\"Zoom screen sharing options\" class=\"wp-image-2065\" srcset=\"https:\/\/gowarranty.in\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/screen-sharing-zoom.jpg 920w, https:\/\/gowarranty.in\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/screen-sharing-zoom-300x126.jpg 300w, https:\/\/gowarranty.in\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/screen-sharing-zoom-768x321.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 920px) 100vw, 920px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once you save your settings, future meetings that you start will have to share disabled by default.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you forget to change the setting before you start your meeting, there\u2019s a way to modify your settings after it starts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once your Zoom meeting is running, click the caret to the right of the green \u201cShare Screen\u201d button in the center of the bottom row of icons<br>Click \u201cAdvanced Sharing Options\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A dialogue box will pop up, allowing you to switch screen sharing availability from all participants to the host only.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"920\" height=\"664\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.gowarranty.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/advanced-sharing-option.jpg\" alt=\"advanced screen sharing options\" class=\"wp-image-2066\" srcset=\"https:\/\/gowarranty.in\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/advanced-sharing-option.jpg 920w, https:\/\/gowarranty.in\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/advanced-sharing-option-300x217.jpg 300w, https:\/\/gowarranty.in\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/advanced-sharing-option-768x554.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 920px) 100vw, 920px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And what if you\u2019re creating a meeting from your mobile device?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To disable screen sharing after you\u2019ve started your meeting, tap the More (\u2026) button at the bottom right corner of the screen<br>Tap \u201cMeeting Settings\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you\u2019re using an iPhone, scroll down to \u201cAllow Participants to Share\u201d and switch the toggle off.
